副題	Introduction to Japanese Syntax
講義内容	言語学の手法を用いて、日本語の様々な言語現象の解明を目指す。日本語を母語とする学生と日本語以外の言語を母語とする学生（主に留学生別科の学生）が参加し、英語を共通語として用いながら、講議、質議応答、討論を行う。ホームページ上に資料を用意して、これを参照しながら、予習、復習、宿題などの作業を行う。グループ作業も行う。
講義計画	Students are required to solve various linguistic problems and are expected to self-learn using Web materials. Strong interest in linguistics is necessary. We will first learn methods in formal linguistics and linguistic concepts that become relevant in topics to be dealt with in class. Major constructions in Japanese, including passive, causative, relative clause, topic constructions, will be discussed.

テキスト	プリント教材とホームページ上の資料【その他】　留学生別科オープンコース科目と共通開講。別科生と学部生の数を平均化するため、人数制限あり。（20名程度）
