講義内容	The main goal of the course is to examine the essential principles which have a direct effect on the practice of second-language education. The issues will discussed from both a global context and with reference to how second-language education is practiced in Japan.
講義計画	The course will consider the following areas What should be taught?- curriculum issues Who will be taught?- teacher/learner issues How should classes be taught- methodology issues How should we measure learning?- assessment issues
評価方法	Grades for the course will be determined by one major written report to be completed by the end of the course and at least one shorter research paper which will be written during the course. There is no examination. Full class attendance is expected.
