講義題目	Religious Faith in the Works of Graham Greene

講義内容	We will continue to study Greene's thinking about religion, particularly his concept of God, but also his thoughts about the Catholic Church, the importance of faith, the role of grace, and sin. In the first semester, we will read his novel, The Quiet American (1955). In the second semester, we will read a later work, The Honorary Consul (1973). One objective of the seminar will be to compare these works with previous novels we have studied: Brighton Rock, The Heart of the Matter, and A Burnt-Out Case, seeking to better understand Greene's faith journey and his attitudes towards the Church and to religion in general.
講義計画
評価方法	There will be weekly reports, plus an essay at the end of each term.
