講義内容  This course surveys and explores the theoretical issues that are central to a discussion of second-language acquisition. The content will focus on the linguistic, psychological and sociological influences that have an impact upon the learner in the process of second-language acquisition.
講義計画 The course content will be based largely on the required course reading listed below. This will involve a consideration of the following:
  The difference between L1 and L2 acquisition
  Different theories of L2 acquisition
  The nature of learning
  Differences in learners
  The language learning context
  L2 acquisition and language teaching
評価方法 Grades for the course will be determined by one major written report to be completed by the end of the course and at least one shorter research paper which will be written during the course. There is no examination. Full class attendance is expected.
