講義計画 | Seminar II follows the study in Seminar I of popular culture and the historical and sociological allusions in “Forrest Gump.”After an introduction to film terminology and narrative structure, the Seminar will consider both American Literature classics such as The Scarlet Letter, Moby Dick, Huckleberry Finn, and The Great Gatsby as well as ethnic-centered works as Fiddler on the Roof, The Joy Luck Club, and Farewell to Manzanar. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever provides a fitting ending to the course in the winter season. The members will read selections of the prose together in class. Individuals will be responsible for a film version and comment on the film in relation to the prose text. They can find interesting background information in books in the library and journal articles on the internet to help them in their reports. |
評価方法 | Grades will be assigned according to class reports (40%) and the final Graduation Research Paper (60%). |
