講義内容 　知識として蓄積された英語の語彙・文法を活性化させ、特にランゲージラボと外国人教員とのコミュニケーション練習を通し、聞く、話す力を伸ばすことを目的とする。

The main goals of this course are:
１．communicate your ideas in clear English
２．begin to speak and write about policy issues
３．begin to study English by yourself independently
４．talk about important current issues and ‘hot topics’
This course practices all four skills : speaking and listening, reading and writing. Classes meet three mornings a week, Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
Each teacher will talk about your class with you in April. In each lesson, students work in English on different topics with new partners. In class, you will also read about these topics in English, learn new words, have discussions and mini-debates, make short presentations and poster presentations, write reports, do role-plays, watch movie clips, and write conversations. There are often small tests, and usually homework for each class. In class, students sometimes, study by themselves in pairs, or in small groups.
講義計画 All Freshman students take a Level Test in April, and are then put into an advanced, regular, or basic level class. The advanced level has 90 minutes of communication class. The regular and basic classes have 45 minutes of communication class with one teacher, and 45 minutes of listening in the LL with a different teacher. Each teacher will give you a class syllabus in April.
評価方法 Your teacher will tell you about homework policy and exams for your class. For regular and basic classes, 50% of the grade comes from your communication class, and 50% from your LL class. Please speak in English in both classes. Please come to all classes.
