授業概要 Foreign workers can be seen almost anywhere in Japan. Why are there foreign workers in the first place? What mechanisms are involved in labor migration? How is labor migration explained by different theories? What are the positive and negative impacts of labor migration in both the receiving and sending countries? These are some of the questions we will try to answer in this course.
学修目標 The course aims to provide basic migration theories as well as make students aware of different social issues connected with migration.

評価方法 Grades are based on attendance, class participation, reports, tests and final exams.
テキスト Hand-outs will be provided as necessary and most materials are found in the my university home page.
その他 The course is conducted in Japanese but many reading materials may be in English.
Attendance is strictly enforced. Three times absence from the course means disqualification.
