授業概要 The goals of English WorkshopIII&IV are to continue to provide students with Content Based Instruction (classes about specific content areas such as : Human Rights organizations, Postcolonial Africa, Drama Scene Analysis, China and the Chinese, and so on)in ways that are motivating and actively engage students to share their thoughts about the content with their peers and instructor.
学修目標 The aims of WorkshopIII&IV are to further develop student abilities to acquire English through content-based studies. Students will achieve greater understanding of the topic areas through a variety of learning activities conducted in the target language.
授業計画 WorkshopIII&IV will allow students to engage in meaningful activities that include the four skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), in an integrated way, thus allowing them to more deeply participate in each content-based course. Accordingly, each workshop will include a variety of activities that are designed to help students to comprehend the material and then extend their leaning by interacting with each other. Activities may include short instructor lectures, small group and pair discussions, watching videos, reading articles and other materials, and still other ways to promote interest and acquisition in each content area.
Students will also develop skills in reflection by keeping a written log of their class activities that will be used each week as part of the content in each lesson.
評価方法 Evaluation will be carried out approximately as follows :
25% - enthusiastic class participation only in English
25% - action log
25% - evidence of completion of homework
25% - test, project, or paper at the end (each teacher will tell the students)
Teachers will also provide a detailed syllabus that includes information concerning grades, class activities, and other relevant course information during the first lesson.
