副題	Seminar II: 19th and 20th Century Prose / Toshio Mori
授業概要	Seminar II continues the study of the forms of fiction and the focus on the Japanese American writer Toshio Mori. In the first semester representative pieces of nineteenth- and twentieth-century writers will be the subject of student reports. In the second semester the focus will be on Toshio Moriユs novel about the pros and cons of Nisei serving in the American Armed Forces, The Brothers Murata.
学修目標	Aim: Students get skills in seeing several sides of a situation and forming their own opinion. Seminar II will also devote time to graduation paper research, organization, and presentation.
授業計画	The weekly written reports of the members will serve as the basis for class discussion. More formal presentations will be given by each member as the graduation paper develops in the second semester.
評価方法	Grades: Grades will be assigned according to class reports (40%) and the final Graduation Paper (60%).
