学修目標 The main goal of this course is to provide students with writing skills to express their idea, opinion, observation and whatever experiences they have, so that they become more competent in writing both human interest stories and essays in Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia).
授業計画 While this is primarily a composition course, all four language skills (mendengar-listening, berbicara-speaking, membaca-reading and menulis-writing) will be integrated throughout the semester. Class will be conducted using a mixture of short presentation taken from daily events or from Indonesian publications, followed by conversation, reading and discussion in order to encourage students to get specific ideas and to choose their own topics for composition. Special attention will be paid to compositional skills (cara menulis karangan), including creative exercises in suggesting and giving reasons, supported by writing tips, vocabulary building, reading or listening to writing examples in Indonesian. The class will be participatory with special emphasis placed on student involvement. Various materials and methods will be employed. All teacher-student and student-student interaction will be conducted in Indonesian.
