【授業概要】
本科目では、ビジネスにおけるさまざまな事例や問題について英語で議論する。さらに公式の場でのビジネス・プレゼンテーションにおいて必要な言葉遣いや技能について学び、授業時間内に学生自身によるプレゼンテーションも実践する。プレゼンテーションの論題はクラスディスカッションに関するものが大部分であるが、学生自身が選んだ話題に関しても発表の機会を与える。社会的交流はビジネスの現場において大きな部分を占めているので、授業では総合的英語能力向上を目的とするアクティビティーも実践する。本科目は英語を母語としない学生のみ対象に開講される。(講義は英語で行われます。)
【到達目標】
The goal of this class is to
help students improve their spoken English in informal discussions of business
issues, in business meeting situations, and in formal business presentations.
Students will have the opportunity to improve their English fluency, to expand
their English vocabulary, and to increase their confidence in using the
language.

Student presentations
Each student in the class will do a presentation on a business
issue of their choice. Possible topics could include, but are not limited to,
any of the following: introducing a new product or service; proposal for
revising and updating a product that is presently on the market; proposal for
increasing sales of a present product or service; seeking investors for a
start-up company.

【評価方法】
Student
grades will be based largely on class participation. This means that it is very
important to attend class regularly, to come to class prepared, and to take
part actively in class discussions. About 75 percent of the grade in this class
will be based on class participation. The remaining 25 percent will be based on
student presentations.
