授業概要 就職先では実際に英語を使う場面はさまざまであるが、特に南山大学の卒業生ということでいわゆる翻訳や通訳を気軽に頼まれてしまうことがよくある。このクラスでは英語通訳・翻訳の基本から簡単な応用までを学ぶ。毎週３〜４時間の授業外学習・練習が必要になる。また、実務レベルで英語を使うためにはある程度の英語力が必要であるため、履修を希望するものは必ず初回授業に参加し、自分の英語力と授業で求められる英語力について各自慎重に検討すること。
学修目標 　To acquire basic skills in translating and interpreting from Japanese to English.
　To acquire and be able to produce the secondary skills（note-taking, shadowing, whispering, content analysis）associated with interpreting and translating.
　To enhance intercultural awareness through a variety of topics related to practical English for the workplace and policy studies.
　To increase vocabulary in business and policy related areas.
　To enhance independent learning skills through class work.
