講義内容 | Seminar III and IV focus on the fictionalized experiences of colonial subjects in the metropolitan center. In this semester we will take up the fiction of Buchi Emecheta, a Nigerian woman living in London. |
学修目標 | The aim of this seminar is to develop the students’ability to read and interpret fiction critically. We will also begin the process of preparing the final graduation research paper |
講義計画 | Class time will be divided between discussion of Emecheta’s novel, Second-Class Citizen and student discussion/presentation of their individual research topics. Week 1: Introduction to Buchi Emecheta and immigrant London Weeks 2-14: Individual chapters of the novel |
評価方法 | Grades will be determined by class attendance, participation, and individual presentations. A detailed guideline will de distributed with the weekly syllabus in the first class. |
