授業概要 In building up to debates, PowerPoint and persuasive presentations, students will learn various skills such as: signposting, how to present visuals, how to articulate their ideas, pacing, how to focus, soften and repeat ideas, as well as how to make their speech more formal and how to deal with questions. The course will be build from week to week and culminate in a large final presentation.
学修目標 This course will equip students with the confidence and skills necessary to give a range of presentations in English. Extensive practice will be done and students will learn to debate, do a simple PowerPoint presentation and how to give a successful persuasive presentation.
授業計画 Syllabus: Week to week schedule (subject to change)

Week１：course introduction, impromptu presentations, openings, dos & donユts.
Week２：signposting, survival tactics, 1st presentation prep.
Week３：visuals, change & development, cause & effect, 1st presentation prep.
Week４：1st Presentation: PowerPoint
Week５：articulation, chunking, stress, debating phrases
Week６：intonation, pacing, sound scripting, debating practice
Week７：emphasis, prepare debates
Week８：2nd Presentation: Debates
Week９：focusing, softening, repetition
Week10：rhetorical questions, dramatic contrasts, tripling, persuassion
Week11：machine gunning, build ups, knock downs, simplifying, rapport
Week12：formality, persuassion
Week13：handling questions, final presentation prep.
Week14：3rd Presentation: Persuassive speech
評価方法 Attendance = 20%, Participation = 20%,
3 Presentations = 60% (10%, 20% and 30% respectively.
