副題 Literature and the British Empire: Buchi Emecheta's Second-Class Citizen and the Immigrant Experience in Britain (I)
授業概要 Seminar III focuses on the fictionalized experiences of colonial subjects in the metropolitan center. In this semester we will take up the fiction of Buchi Emecheta, a Nigerian woman living in London.
学修目標 The aim of this seminar is to develop the students' ability to read and interpret fiction critically. We will also begin the process of preparing the final graduation research paper
授業計画 Class time will be divided between discussion of Emecheta's novel, Second-Class Citizen and student discussion/presentation of their individual research topics:
