副題	Literature and the British Empire: Buchi Emecheta's In the Ditch and the Immigrant Experience in Britain (II)
授業概要	Seminar IV continues to focus on the fictionalized experiences of colonial subjects in the metropolitan center. In this semester we will take up Buchi Emecheta's In the Ditch.
学修目標	The aim of this seminar is to develop the students' ability to read and interpret fiction critically. We will also begin the process of preparing the final graduation research paper.
授業計画	Class time will be divided between discussion of Emecheta's novel, In the Ditch, and student discussion/presentation of their individual research topics.
評価方法	Class attendance and participation, presentations, and either a final examination or report.
