授業概要 This course introduces the student to the English used in business situations such as telephoning, negotiating and presenting to a group. It covers both spoken and written language skills and makes extensive use of simulations, role-plays and in - class interaction so active participation is essential. Upon completion of the course students will be able to participate in basic business interactions in English both competently and courteously.
学修目標 The purpose of this course is to familiarize the student with the vocabulary of business; the different forms of
written business communications; and the different skills required in business such as telephoning, taking part in meetings, negotiating and socializing.

評価方法 Evaluation will be a negotiated process, with the following factors being considered: quantity and quality of class participation; quantity and quality of assignments; and quality of the final project. There will be outside reading required and homework assigned every class. Every student will be required to complete a final report or project after consultation with the instructor. There will be no final examination.
