学修目標	福祉国家による市場システムへの介入の経済的な根拠づけを扱った英文テキストに即して基本用語と英文読解力を学ぶ。
授業計画	春学期のAは指定テキストのChapter １とChapter ３を講読 Chapter １第１回・第２回：１．The approach, 第３回・第４回：２．The welfare state and its objectives, 第５回・第６回：３．A changing world: Challenges and responses Chapter ３第７回・第８回：１．Theories of society, 第９回・第10回：２．Libertarian views, 第11回・第12回：３．Liberal theories of society, 第13回・第14回：５．Implications for the role of the state
評価方法	授業の出席・予習報告が70％、　定期試験が30％
テキスト	Nicholas Barr, Economics of the Welfare State ,2004 Chapter 1 Introduction pp.3-15 Chapter 3 Political theory: social justice and the state pp.42-63
その他	テキストは当方で用意して受講者に配布する。
