副題 Survey of environmental problems, solutions, and action
授業概要 This intensive course will examine the range of environmental issues facing us today.Topics covered will include: specific environmental threats; the positive and negative roles science has played; individual, corporate, and government responsibility; and the question of how harmony in society may be extended to include harmony with nature.Students will choose a focus in one of three areas: problem-oriented, solution-oriented, or action-oriented. Within this focus, students will each write one 500 word essay, and jointly produce in a group a poster presentation to be presented sometime during the following semester at the World Plaza.Students are required to stay at the Nanzan Kensyu Center for the duration of the program. The cost of all meals and lodging are approximately ¥22,000.
