授業概要  企業や公共団体が商品のプロモーションやメッセージの浸透を効果的に達成する上で、コミュニティ(消費者)と多次元においてコミュニケーションを取ることが有効である。この「多次元的コミュニケーション」を可能にするひとつの手段として「イベント」が広く活用されるようになってきた。この授業では、ビジネスイベントの企画、その実施に向けての交渉術、およびそれぞれにおける実際のプロセスを英語で学ぶ。学生は、グループごとにテーマを決めて英語のリサーチをし、そのリサーチをベースに講演会やイベント等の企画を英語で発表し、実現を前提にした英語での交渉術を学ぶ。授業は全て英語で行われるため、TOEICで700点レベルの英語力が必要である。
学修目標 By completing this course,the student will be able to:
1. explain various characteristics and effectiveness of corporate/marketing events.
2. write event proposals for small events.
3. write a simulated event schedule and event day timeline.
4. understand basic contractual concepts and terms.
5. understand the importance of basic negotiation skills in the planning stage.
6. present a simulation of a research-based event.
7. actually plan a real event and execute it!

評価方法 Students are expected to attend class every week. Attendance is taken in every class, and if you miss 3 classes, you will get an F. If you miss more than one-third of the total number of class meetings, you will receive an S for excessive absences as stated in the university attendance guideline.

Attendance, class participation (incl. presentations, assignments): 50%
Event observation journal: 20%
Final event proposal: 30% (Due date: to be announced)
IMPORTANT: You will get an X for failing to meet the above deadline.
