副題 Romantic Prose III: Essays
授業概要 It was during the Romantic period that a recognizably modern consumer culture was born. Through a series of short essays on sport, shopping, and theatre, students will learn to make connections between English Romantic culture and modern society.
学修目標 By the end of this course, you should have the theoretical knowledge and research skills to create and pursue a research project independently in your chosen field.

授業時間外の学習(準備学習など) Before the very start of the course, you are expected to do enough work to come up with two different research topics. Each of these topics must be accompanied by a 150-word summary. During the spring
semester, you are expected to do at least 3 hours of research a week in order to finalize the topic of your graduation thesis. You are expected to make a 10-minute presentation on your graduation thesis by week 13.
評価方法 Your final grade for this course is made up of:
・A 1,000-word graduation thesis (80%)
・Oral presentations (20%)
