授業概要	This course provides participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding on the following issues: how globalization has happened, its influence on society, politics, individual identity.
学修目標	- To understand the issues associated with economic, political and cultural globalization - To become familiar with the literature on sociology and the politics of globalization - To improve English skills: reading, speaking, writing
授業計画	１．　　Introduction ２—５．Poverty and economic polarization in developed and developing countries ６—９．Migration: nationalism, gender, race 10—13．Global civil society: resistance movements and alternative societies 14．　　Presentation
授業時間外の学習（準備学習など）	Students are expected to read the materials assigned by the instructor in advance and prepare for discussion in class.
評価方法	Preparation and participation (40%), Presentation (30%), Term Paper (30%)
