【授業概要】

This course will give students instruction and practice in different types of business writing. We will look at the organization and the content of business letters, faxes, and e-mails. Students will learn the expressions and phrases that are commonly used in business writing. Activities from the textbook will help students improve their written English. The course will include group work, in which students can help one another with their writing. There will be homework. Classes will be conducted in English.

         When students have completed this course, they should be able to plan, write, revise, and rewrite their own business correspondence. They will become familiar with the vocabulary and the structures that are used in formal business writing.

【授業時間外の学習(準備学習など)】

Because many of the students in this business program are so busy with their other classes and other responsibilities, I give very little homework in this class. I do sometimes assign business emails or letters as homework assignments, but we do most of the preparation for these assignments during class time.

 

【評価方法】

50% of the grade will be based on the written homework assignments.

50% of the grade will be based on in-class participation
