授業概要 　英語によるリサーチの実践力をつけるために、集中講義の形態で４泊５日の国内英語合宿を行う。国内において英語オンリーの環境を作り、その中で英語における資料検索、ディスカッション、レポートライティング、プレゼンテーションを学び、最終成果物として合体発表会を最終日に行う。場所は、南山学園研修センター（名古屋市昭和区いりなか）の予定。授業は全て英語で行われるのでTOEICにおいて700点レベルの英語力が要求される。また、４泊５日の期間は全て英語オンリーの環境になるので、日本語の使用は認められない。実習費として22,000円程度（宿泊費、食事等）を徴収する。
学修目標 受講生は、この授業を通して以下のことを学ぶことが望まれている。
１）英語におけるリサーチの知識と実践力
２）ディスカッション、Q&A、プレゼンテーションのスキルと実践力
３）英語だけの環境において生活することによって得られる実践的英語力

Day 2(1) Classroom expressions
(2) Scholarly journals to popular magazines
(3) Research methods: qualitative vs. quantitative (1)

(5) Examine long articles and find qualitative, quantitative characteristics
(6) Internet research and workshop: how to use library databases
Planning your research: discuss direction, lit review, methodology, consider potential obstacles
Day 3(1) Citation methods and bibliography: APA manual, plagiarism, etc. Examine articles and find examples

授業時間外の学習（準備学習など） Prior to the camp week, study the classroom expressions explained in the recommended book. Also, pick up one or two academic articles you are interested in and read them as a way to prepare yourself for the course. Since you will be working on a group project during the camp, come up with a couple of topics you may be interested in doing a project on, such as social, environmental, political, cultural, media literacy issues.
評価方法 Class participation, class projects, research proposal, presentation, and performance at the final presentations will be evaluated.
テキスト 英語の配布資料を用いる。
その他 2クラス開講の予定。ただし1クラスの定員はそれぞれ20名とする。
