The primary goal of the class is to improve the studentfs listening skill by exposing students to massive amounts of listening input by watching and studying four classic Hollywood movis in class and two more at home. In order to better prepare the student for this task, a textbook has been custom made for the class by the teacher and will be available for purchase at the beginning of the semester. In addition to helping the student improve their listening skill, the movies shown in class involve strong elements of American culture, sociology and history of the eras depicted in the films.
