How does change in language affect culture?
How does change in culture affect language?
【授業概要】
Students will reflect on the relationship between language and culture, how each affects and changes the other. In small groups students will focus on one aspect of their own language or culture, and determine how change in one will cause change in the other. By looking at that aspect in the past they will then predict how it will change one hundred years in the future.
【学修目標】
The teacher expects students to become active learners who discover for themselves a clearer picture of how language and culture affect each other and the dynamism of both. The teacher will not serve as the provider of answers, but as a guide to help students discover answers themselves.
