【授業概要】
In the second semester we will look at Africa and its’ relationship to the World. Will mostly look at NGOs, its’ economy and problems in modern Africa. Folktales, entertainment, changes in life styles and young people.
【学修目標】
Why study about Africa? The media always paints a grim picture of Africa, focusing mainly on the conflicts, HIV/AIDS, Poverty or animals and therefore the good parts, it's rich cultures, people, natural resources, etc are overlooked. There is more to Africa than just what the media shows and the goal of this course is for students to gain an understanding of Africa and it's great diversity and rich heritage. The aim is for students to see Africa differently. The Africa they don’t know or don’t usually see on TV. This is a great and complex journey of exploring Africa.
