授業概要 This course is for advanced students aiming to improve their communication skills from the daily to the academic level. Although the emphasis will be on speaking and listening, reading and writing will also be addressed.
学修目標 ●　Identify and use academic vocabulary.
●　Prepare, discuss and/or debate various issues, providing support for their statements and demonstrating knowledge about the topics.
●　Complete individual presentations on a topic related to a theme covered in class.

授業時間外の学習（準備学習など） In addition to the homework assigned in the Weekly Schedule section listed above, students are expected to read selections at home before discussing them in class and visit the World Plaza regularly.
評価方法 ●　Poster or PowerPoint Presentation - 35％ - Late or absent students receive ０％
●　Vocabulary and Grammar Review Quiz - 35％ - Late or absent students receive 0％
●　Report (based on presentation) - 30％ - Late or no report = X

その他 Homework & Participation - 15％ - １％ for each class, but ０％ if student is late, sleeping, using his/her phone, using Japanese, does not have homework or generally not participating. Early leave, late ３ times, or late for more than 15 minutes = １ absence.
欠席と成績評価：　欠席は４回に達した段階でF(不合格)評価がつく。また、授業数の３分の１を超えて欠席がある場合、評価はS(欠席過多)となる。
If you miss ４ classes, you will get an F.
