授業概要 The purpose of this course is to improve students, reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary skills.　This will be achieved through reading a variety of articles in class and at home and by discussions held in class. Group Reading and presentation activities will also be included as part of the course.

授業時間外の学習（準備学習など） Students will be expected to keep a reading journal in which they will summarize and comment on daily readings of articles from the Internet, newspapers, or magazines, etc. They will also be expected to keep a notebook on new vocabulary learned. In addition, a book will be selected at the beginning of the semester, students are expected to read it and complete it by the end of the semester. They will summarize and comment on the book in their journals which will be collected at the end of the semester.

その他 Attendance: Students are expected to attend class regularly. Students who miss 4 classes will receive an F.
