授業概要	In this class, we will work on your English reading skills, such as making inferences, and reading faster. You will also develop good reading habits. For instance, good readers ask questions as they read, and they read critically. They also reflect on how what they are reading is connected to their own lives, other literature, the world and stories of the day around them. The syllabus is both skills and topic-based.
学修目標	Students will read a minimum of six (6) graded readers during the course of the semester. Students will increase their vocabulary, and will follow steps to guess at the meaning of new words from context. Students will increase their comprehension and reading speed. Students will engage in both intensive and extensive reading.

授業時間外の学習（準備学習など）	Students will be expected to read short texts and graded readers outside of class, prepare short book/reading reports, do homework, and study vocabulary in preparation for regular quizzes.

その他	Attendance: Students are expected to attend class regularly. Students who miss ４ classes will receive an F. Students who fail to turn in the final report by the deadline will receive an X.
