授業概要
学修目標 This course provides students with a variety of reading strategies to improve reading proficiency and promote a positive attitude for and competence in reading in English. Activities will include both extensive and intensive reading tasks using a variety of texts for improving student skills in surveying, predicting, skimming, scanning, inferring, and making connections with the readings.

授業時間外の学習（準備学習など） Students should read their textbook and reader to prepare for class discussion and quizzes. To receive a high grade, students will probably need to study 1 — 3 hours per week.

・Punctuality — Students will be expected to be on time for class. Being late three times will be equal to one absence.
・Attendance — Students will be expected to attend every class.
・Participation — Students will be marked on their class work and participation.
・Homework — Homework will consist of going over your class handouts and your textbook readings.
