授業概要 The aims of English Reading II are to provide students with a variety of reading strategies to improve reading proficiency and promote a positive attitude for and competence in reading in English. Activities will include both extensive and intensive reading tasks using a variety of texts for improving student skills in surveying, predicting, skimming, scanning, inferring, and making connections with the readings.
学修目標 Students will increase their reading speeds, broaden and deepen their vocabulary, learn to make use of linguistic relationships to guess words from context, employ strategies to identify the writer,s purpose, predict outcomes, see relationships and draw conclusions, empowering themselves to be more independent learners..

授業時間外の学習（準備学習など） Students will be expected to read short texts and graded readers outside of class, and prepare short book reports. They should review vocabulary and learning strategies for each unit in the text. They will prepare a final report.
