授業概要 The purpose of this class is to further improve reading proficiency acquired in English I Reading. This class will have a semester theme of “the citizen judge system in Japan.” Students will have reading materials (books/summaries/transcripts) from three American fictions, as well as movies, and discuss the Japanese citizen judge system and the American jury system by comparing and contrasting.

授業時間外の学習（準備学習など） Students will be expected to read the reading materials and fill in the worksheets in order to prepare for discussions in class. They will be also expected to study for mainly law-related vocabulary for review quizzes. They will be required to write a report for each of the book/movie.
評価方法 Participation: 10%
Vocabulary review quizzes: 30% Reports (including Final Report) : 60% (20x3)
