授業概要 The purposes of this class are to provide students with a variety of reading strategies to improve reading proficiency, increase reading speed, build vocabulary, and promote a positive attitude for and competence in reading in English. This class also encourages students to become effective independent readers and to enjoy reading English texts of their choice.
学修目標 Students will be able to
1.preview an English text and make predictions about it
2.understand the main idea of a reading or a paragraph, or identify an author,s opinion or point of view
3.show their understanding of details or distinguish between a main idea and a detail
4.make inferences based on the text
5.read and understand designated texts at 100-120 words per minute
6.read, and understand graded readers (at approximately OUP Level 3) and write a book report

評価方法 Unit Quizzes = 25%
Participation = 25%
