授業概要 | The purpose of this course is to provide students with a variety of strategies and opportunities to improve writing proficiency and to expose them to exercises designed to challenge their creative writing potential. |
学修目標 | Students will be exposed to a variety of writing tasks such as letters, timed writings, and short essays. The goals of the class are to develop skills in planning, organizing, and developing ideas, and expressing yourself clearly. You will learn the different stages of the writing process, sentence-combining techniques, and transitional devices. You will also develop reflective techniques to better assess your own writing. |

授業時間外の学習(準備学習など) | Students are expected to be well prepared before coming to class for all discussion topics. Late homework will not be accepted. If the student is absent they should contact the teacher by email. |
評価方法 | 1. Participation 10% 2. Writing Papers 50% 3. Homework 15% 4. Final Portfolio 25% The final portfolio will include 4 samples of your writing ability. Each sample must include all rough drafts, the final drafts. Any student who fails to submit the portfolio at the end of the semester will fail the class. |
