授業概要 The goal of this course is to expose you to many kinds of English in the form of conversation, messages, radio and TV, songs and other forms of real English. Activities will provide listening that will give you the chance to practice predicting, listening for gist, listening for overall understanding and listening for specific information. Individual sound structures will also be practiced, and you will be given speaking tasks to use the language you have listened to in an active way.
Remember, listening also involves listening and talking to each other. You will be actively involved working in pairs and groups as well as on your own. Participation is very important!

1. Do both top-down and bottom-up listening
2. Identify and summarize the main ideas and supporting details from 2-5 minute listening tasks
3. Identify key words and specific information
4. Infer the speaker’s intentions
5. Understand linked sounds and intonation
6. Do short dictations of approximately 50-70 words
7. Listen for gist
8. Use note-taking strategies

Students are expected to actively attend class regularly. Students who miss 4 classes will receive an F. Students who fail to submit the final report by the deadline will receive an X.

4回欠席すると、「F(不合格)」になります。
授業の3分の1以上(5回以上)欠席すると、「S(欠席過多)」になります。
