授業概要 Students will be exposed to a variety of authentic listening materials, such as news items, interviews, TV clips, songs, and short movie scenes amongst others. Listening skills will be taught, such as top down listening and bottom up listening, note taking, and inferring. In order to improve students, listening, emphasis will also be placed on the production of English, with particular attention placed on pronunciation, stress, linking and intonation.

3. To be able to infer the speaker,s intentions
4. To be able to understand longer listening tasks
5. To be able to do short dictation tasks of 50-75 words
6. To be able to identify key words and specific information from listening tasks

8. To become more autonomous and structured in their listening studies

授業時間外の学習(準備学習など) Students will be assigned online homework which will be monitored on a weekly basis, as well as being expected to prepare for the quizzes, presentation and the listening circle. They will also maintain a log of all
their in-class listening activities, which will be submitted as a “listening log” with their Final report.
評価方法 Participation 15%, Homework 10%, Listening quizzes 30%, Small presentation 10%,
Listening circle 10%, Listening log and final report 25%

その他 Attendance: Students are expected to attend class regularly. Students who miss 4 classes will receive an F. Students who fail to submit their Listening log or Final report by the deadline will receive an X.
