授業概要 This course will integrate the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing in English. As student levels and majors will vary, emphasis in the first classes will be put on learning about each other and allowing the teacher to integrate specific topics that are of interest to the class. Scheduled topics /activities will include cultural comparisons, current events, movies, music, social issues, drama, and literature. Through language development assignments, pair work, teamwork, and individual presentations students will be encouraged to develop language abilities that will benefit both professional and interpersonal communication skills.
学修目標 1. Use English holistically where all four skills are being utilized
2. Read/listen to short passages of 100-300 words and summarize them in written form or orally
3. Recognize and use vocabulary and simple grammar structures such as present tense, present continuous, simple past, etc in written/oral form
4. Do short dictations of 50-75 words
5. Write short paragraphs of 100- 150 words and retell them.
6. Talk about interest and daily routines for 3-5 minutes
