授業概要	This is a course on 20th century English Children's Literature. By the end of the course, students will gain a deeper understanding of the history and culture of England.

授業計画	１　 Introduction to Children's Literature ２-３ Animal Stories : Kipling's Just So Stories (1902) ４-５ Innocent Child / Knowing Adult : Milne's Winnie-The-Pooh (1926) ６-７ War Stories : Hergs The Blue Lotus (1936) or Bigglesworth's Biggles Delivers the Goods (1946) ８-９ Child Heroes : Blyton's The Secret Seven (1953) 10-11 A Postmodern Fantasy : Dahl's James and the Giant Peach (1961) 12-13 Apocalyptic Visions : Hughes' The Iron Man (1968) 14-15 The End of Children's Literature : Rowling's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (1997)
授業時間外の学習（準備学習など）	Students must do homework reading assignments every lesson to prepare for the next class. Students must read their chosen textbook from cover to cover.
評価方法	Class Essay 50% Written Examination 50%

その他	3rd and 4th year Eibei Students who have already completed my course on‘English Children's Literature’ (English Workshop III1 (41161 (春) or English Workshop IV3 (41173 (秋)) should NOT take this course.
