副題	Subtitle: The Prosody of English
授業概要	英語音声学の基礎知識を与えるとともに、特に日本人が英語を発音する際の困難点を指摘し、日・英語の音韻構造の違い、英語の発音指導のためのヒントを示す。発声器官の名称と働き、英語音の分類と記述、音連続の発音、発話に見られる音声的変化、アクセント、イントネーション等を詳述する。
学修目標	Building on the knowledge gained during the Spring semester, we will aim for an understanding of the Prosodic system of English, which should facilitate the understanding of Spoken English.
授業計画	Building on the knowledge gained during the Spring semester, we will discuss phenomena spanning larger segments than the phoneme and syllable. The main interests will be Prosodic : Stress, Rhythm, Assimilation and related phenomena, and Intonation. 　Week１．Introduction to Phonetics : Review of Spring Semester : Segmental Phonetics 　Week２．Introduction of Prosody #１　Week３〜Week６．Prosody : Stress 　Week７〜Week８．Prosody : Rhythm 　Week９〜Week10．Assimilation and Related Phenomena 　Week11〜Week14．Intonation 　Week15．Review
授業時間外の学習（準備学習など）	予習として（１）テキストの指定された箇所を熟読すること（２）疑問や質問などをノートに書き留め、討論の用意をすること復習として（１）返却された課題の問題点を確認すること（２）授業のノートを見直し、次の課題を見つけ出すこと
評価方法	筆記試験（90分）80％、課題10％、授業参加（質疑応答など）10％
