授業概要 In this class, Japanese students are expected to see their own country from different perspectives. We read The Chrysanthemum And the Sword: Patterns of Japanese Culture by Ruth Benedict. Living in the period when the United States fought against Japan, she wrote about Japanese culture to the American audience. By reading her foreign perspective to see Japan, students rethink about Japan from fresh angles.
