【授業概要】

本科目の目的は、製造業およびサービス部門における経営オペレーションズを包括的かつ体系的に網羅して平易に講義することである。そこでのオペレーションズの機能は、単に最終製品の質に影響を与えるばかりでなく、消費者へのサービスや組織の全体的な競争力に重大な影響を与える。

本科目では、オペレーションズの戦略的重要性、効率的なオペレーションズの基本原理および概念を紹介する。特に、品質保証、生産過程のデザインやサービス・デリバリーの分野でオペレーショナルな意思決定がどのように管理され改善されるかを検証する。特に、取扱うトピックスに依存して製造業やサービス業の具体的なオペレーションズを取り挙げて議論する。

(講義は英語で行われます。)

【到達目標】

The course is designed for the students to learn about the key elements of the production and operations processes for manufacturing and service firms including product design and process selection, quality management, production system design including JIT, capacity planning, facility location, inventory management, operations scheduling, materials management, purchasing, order processing, etc.  Students will also learn strategic aspects of operations system design, and the complexities arising from the needs to integrate efficiently the multiple locations of plants, global sourcing and distribution requirement to global markets.

【授業計画】

15 class meetings will be used for lecturing basic concepts and methods, class discussion, case analysis and project presentations.  The tentative schedule of topics to be covered is as follows:
