講義内容 英語Iリーディングに引き続き、英語の読解力をさらに向上させることをめざす。いろいろなジャンルの英文を読解する。
講義計画 The SRA reading system is used by all teachers in this course. An SRA placement test assesses each student’s particular reading level and is used to indicate how this level may be improved. The course also serves as a preparation for the more advanced academic reading demands of Reading III & IV. Intensive and extensive reading tasks are regularly assigned, and the following elements of reading are also a feature of the course:
　 surveying; predicting; skimming;
　 scanning; inferring; structuring;
　 the use of linguistic and semantic relationships to guess vocabulary; and
　 the use of affixes to guess vocabulary.
評価方法 The final grade will be based on:
　1）a continuous assessment of a student’s work and effort in class;
　2）the grades given for various reading assignments and tests during the year; and
　3）the progress made in the SRA reading method.
