授業概要 | The
main goal of the writing course is to develop your writing ability and
your writing style. In particular, the course aims to develop your
skill in planning, organizing and developing ideas in order to express
them clearly, while paying attention to audience awareness. The course
will also explore how different kinds of writing have different
structures in terms of the English used and the structure of the
writing. |
学修目標 | 1. To use a variety of pre-writing techniques such as lists and mind maps 2. To write both formal and informal letters 3. To write and develop a paragraph (150+words) on a general or personal topic 4. To write a multi-paragraph essay (300+ words) on a general or personal topic 5. To use the conventions for specific writing genres 6. To understand basic vocabulary associated with writing 7. To write basic sentence patterns with coordination and subordination with accuracy 8. To recognize and use transitional cues 9. To identify and manipulate different rhetorical structures 10. To follow basic typing conventions |

授業時間外の学習(準備学習など) | Students are expected to write all the pre-drafts and final drafts and manage their portfolio, keeping it neat and tidy and constantly updated. |

Students are expected to actively attend class regularly. Students who
miss 4 classes will receive an F. Students who fail to submit the final
