The reason I decided to study abroad to Japan was because of a growing interest in Japanese media. I originally just wanted to travel, but I became interested in Japan and decided to pursue study there. When I arrived in Japan, I was very worried about my language skills and doing things I had never done before, but I was also equally excited. I had not really known anyone in Japan, so talking to my language buddy really helped me acclimate to the new environment. Conversing with the Japanese students was fun for me as I was able to learn more about Japanese culture and lifestyles. I do think it is beneficial to talk with Japanese students, especially to make new friends. Because of the study abroad experience, I was able to learn a lot about Japanese life and the language. I believe that I can apply what I learned in Japan to my life in the future. Lastly, while I did not bring much, I brought pictures of my family to keep me company while in Japan. Thank you
